Used Mobility Scooter Shop

Warranty

Used Mobility Scooter Shop – Warranty Terms

  1. Scope of warranty
Used Mobility Scooter Shop provides a standard 6-month warranty on all second-hand mobility scooters purchased from us. The warranty covers faults arising from mechanical or electrical failure under normal use during the warranty period.

Extended warranty option
  • Used Mobility Scooter Shop offers an optional 12‑month extended warranty for eligible second-hand scooters at an additional cost. To be valid, the extended warranty must be purchased at the point of sale and clearly itemised on the bill of sale/invoice on the delivery date, showing the start and end dates and the fee paid.

  • Extended warranty coverage mirrors the standard warranty inclusions and exclusions unless expressly stated otherwise in the extended warranty schedule. Any additional terms for the extended warranty will be provided in writing at purchase.

  • If the extended warranty is not explicitly shown on the bill of sale on delivery, or if payment is not received, no extended warranty applies, and the scooter remains covered only by the standard 6‑month warranty and your statutory rights.

  1. Warranty period
The warranty period is 6 months from the date the customer takes ownership of the scooter. The date on the sales invoice is treated as the start date.

  1. What is covered
During the 6-month warranty, Used Mobility Scooter Shop will, at its discretion, repair or replace defective parts that fail due to an inherent mechanical or electrical fault. Labour for repair work carried out by Used Mobility Scooter Shop or its authorised service partners is included.

  1. What is not covered
The warranty does not cover:

  • Wear‑and‑tear items such as tyres, tubes, bulbs, fuses and upholstery.

  • Batteries that fail due to age, lack of charging, improper charging, or misuse.

  • Damage caused by accident, impact, misuse, neglect, vandalism, unauthorised modifications or improper storage.

  • Damage caused by use in conditions for which the scooter is not designed (for example excessive gradients, overloading, or off‑road use).

  • Routine servicing, adjustments and safety checks.

  1. Customer obligations
To keep the warranty valid, the customer must:

  • Use, charge and store the scooter in line with the user manual and / or any instructions provided verbally at handover.

  • Notify Used Mobility Scooter Shop of any suspected fault as soon as reasonably possible.

  • Allow Used Mobility Scooter Shop a reasonable opportunity to inspect and, where appropriate, repair the scooter.

  1. Warranty process
If a fault occurs during the warranty period:

  • The customer should contact Used Mobility Scooter Shop by email, providing the scooter details, purchase date and description of the fault.

  • Used Mobility Scooter Shop will arrange inspection, which may involve the scooter being returned to our workshop or an engineer visiting the customer, depending on location and fault.

  • If the fault is covered, Used Mobility Scooter Shop will carry out a repair or, where a repair is not possible or not commercially reasonable, replace the faulty part with a suitable alternative.

  • Where a repair or replacement cannot be completed within a reasonable time, or would cause significant inconvenience, Used Mobility Scooter Shop will discuss alternative remedies in line with the customer’s statutory rights.

  • Please note the use of third-party engineers to undertake repairs will result in invalidating your warranty unless you have obtained the express written authorisation from Used Mobility Scooter Shop in advance

  1. Loan scooters and transport
Where reasonably practicable, Used Mobility Scooter Shop will aim to minimise inconvenience by:

  • Offering collection and return of the scooter, or

  • Offering a suitable loan scooter while repairs are carried out (subject to availability and location).

Any transport or loan arrangements will be agreed with the customer in advance.

  1. Relationship with your statutory rights
This warranty is provided in addition to, and does not affect, the customer’s statutory rights under UK consumer law. Customers may have rights to repair, replacement, price reduction or refund where goods are faulty; those rights exist whether this warranty is offered.

  1. Exclusions and limitations
This warranty applies only to the original purchaser and is not transferable unless agreed in writing by Used Mobility Scooter Shop. It applies only to scooters sold directly by Used Mobility Scooter Shop. The maximum liability under this warranty is limited to the original purchase price of the scooter.
